This kit was designed to help homeowners perform routine maintenance on different types of cracks and separations. Specifically; concrete cracks, grout cracks, trim separations and door edge cracks.
The kit serves to reinforce the fact that even new homes need maintenance to keep them looking like new.
When it comes to introducing this kit, there are two trains of thought:
- Assemble the kit and make it part of the final walk-thru and new home orientation process.
- Print up a flyer and offer the kit for sale. Delivered to the customer’s door.
Choice #1 seems to make the most sense. For about $30 you have given your homeowner a physical reminder that maintenance is required. You’ve also provided recognizable value. They will use most of the items even if they don’t perform any maintenance.
Choice # 2 could make sense if money is really tight. You are making the offer to help. Your homeowner just needs to take the next step and purchase the kit from you. I will almost guarantee you that you will never sell a single kit. So for the cost of one kit and a flyer, you still made a point.
