Selection Center — First Impressions

P9190106Perception is reality. If it looks good, it is good.

These statements are false, of course. But when it comes to showing what we’ve got to offer, we need to put our best efforts forward. The photo at the left is the actual “selection center” at a builders model.

When my daughter, living in another state,  was looking to buy a townhome I went to check out the quality.  I arranged to meet with the builder to get a look at units under construction. I was impressed with how neat things were inside and out. I was impressed that the specs for the structure were well above code minimums. Workmanship was also very good.

While my daughter was meeting with the realtor in the sales office, a finished garage in the model, we noticed the selection choices piled in the floor. We smiled at one another. My daughter had been my Production Coordinator for a number of years and she knew this would never fly back home!

With all that the builder was doing right, this was the first thing most prospects would see. It isn’t expensive to create nice looking selection displays. Displays can even be portable so they are easily moved to their next location.

If it looks good, it is good.

This may not be true, but when it comes to product presentation, looking good is better than not looking good.
