Alignment – Cabinet frames more than 1/8 inch out of line, and cabinet height more than 1/8 inch to adjacent cabinets are subject to corrective measure, only if noted on final walk through form (1/8″ = 2 pennies).

Warping – Cabinet door or drawer warping shall not exceed 1/4 inch (1/4″= 4 pennies).

Wood Grain – Noticeable variations in wood grain and color are normal in all wood or wood veneer selections. Replacements are not made due to such variations.

Notes

Cabinet selection information was provided in your Final Walk Through folder.

If you selected wood or wood veneer cabinets, expect differences in grain and color between and within the cabinet components due to natural variations in wood and the way each piece takes stain or finish.

Homeowner Operation and Maintenance

CleaningProducts such as lemon oil or polishes that include scratch cover are suggested for wood cabinet care. Follow container directions. Use such products a maximum of once every 3 to 6 months to avoid excessive build-up. Avoid paraffin-based spray waxes and washing cabinets with water, as both will damage the luster of the finish.

HingesIf hinges catch or drawer glides become sluggish, a small amount of silicone lubricant may improve their performance.

Loose hinges can usually be tightened with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Alignment of doors cabinet doors can also be accomplished by adjusting the screws on some types of cabinet hinges

Moisture Damage to cabinet surfaces and warping can result from operating appliances that generate large amounts of moisture (such as a crock-pot) too near the cabinet. When operating such appliances, place them in a location that is not directly under a cabinet.
